According to EU regulations, strawberries must be at least 18 mm in diameter. Laws like this contribute to 20% of food being wasted across Europe.
Kudos is an honestly good supermarket that sells "ugly" fruit and veggies, items with slightly damaged packaging, and juices or jams made from surplus produce. Aimed at young, conscious consumers who want to fight food waste without giving up style.
Kudos means "thank you" and that's exactly what we want to say to those who change the way they consume to help make the world a better place.
Food waste happens at many points in the production cycle. At Kudos, we address this with a creative, alternative solution: we buy our products directly from farmers who would otherwise not get paid due to traditional supermarket standards.
After Kudos closes at midnight, some fruits and veggies might still be left. Instead of throwing them away, we turn them into fresh juices and homemade jams, ensuring as little food as possible goes to waste.
These juices and jams are a last chance for these fruits and veggies to be eaten. One final opportunity before being discarded.
Food waste is a major global issue. At Kudos, we chose to raise awareness about it in a fun, playful way, not with sad or boring facts, but with engaging content that inspires change.
